Turn-around
A few days ago I was feeling very much out of it. A rough work-week. Some lousy uninspiring runs earlier in the week and then tonight —an amazing run comes out of no-where.
I owe it largely to the Olympic Marathon Trials which was playing earlier on television this afternoon. Watching the most hardcore of ultra-marathon elites finish a marathon in a little over 2 hours is inspiring to say the least.
Meb Keflezighi, age 36 won with a personal-best time of 2:09.8 to qualify for his third Olympics. Shalane Flanagan won the women’s trial with a time of 2:25.38.
I’ll let you process that. He ran 42 km in a little over two hours. 0_o
So yeah, -20 C is nothing to really brag about. I’m bragging more about how good my run felt. It’s just what I needed to turn around a less than spectacular running week. Just goes to show, it only takes one run to turn it all around.
