So yeah, life has been getting in the way of my running lately. Work, family, car problems, etc. Getting 3 running sessions in a week and 2 push-up sessions has become the most difficult part of my week. It’s not the working of 12-13+ hours of shift work. It’s finding a 40 minute window where I can get away from everyone and everything.
I signed up for a half-marathon in Oakville this past spring but it is looking less and less likely that I’ll be able to participate. I just don’t have the time to properly train for a run of that distance. Which really fucking sucks!! But this is ok, this is life in between running. I run for (mental)health reasons. It keeps me fit, active, & focused. I wish I had time to run longer than 5k on a single day but I tell myself that 5k I run is more than most non-runners get over several months. Also, I pretend that I am running a bunch of small 5k races throughout the week.
Is it possible to quit the rest of my life and become a full-time runner!?
