I’m back. Did you miss me? Did you even notice I was gone!?
I finished all my running sessions at the start of this week and the past two days were spent on a mini-vacation visiting my sister in TO. Don’t tsk tsk me just yet, let me be clear… I did in fact get a good work out: walking. My calves & feet are aching (more of a commentary on my need for better foot wear) but still it just shows how walking and running utilize different sets of muscles. I didn’t want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for parking, nor did I want to kill our planet further, so I walked everywhere.
It felt good to slow things down a bit. When you run, things seem to rush by in a bit of a blur. Taking in the many sights, sounds, & scents of a major down-town city was just what I needed. Since my sister was working during the days, it afforded me some much needed alone time. And while I didn’t really “do anything”, five different independent coffee-houses and a few book-stores, it was nice to be on my own and not be bothered by anyone or anything.
It is pleasant to be back home and I’m looking forward to getting back into some much needed running. Autumn is here and COLOURS!!!
Enjoy the pavement. :)
